Sucia in the Summer

Visible from North Beach or the top of Mount Constitution, Sucia Island sits just north of Orcas Island below the Strait of Georgia. Sucia offers campsites and hiking for those wishing to leave the island for an evening or two. Sucia is also the site of the sandstone China Caves, where laborers hid as they were smuggled secretly into the United States during the 1800s. Today, it’s a fun place to visit and explore through the numerous trails and hikes on the island shaped like a hand with fingers.
