Another year and another Fourth of July parade on Orcas
Island! Locals and hundreds of tourists flocked to Eastsound on Saturday, which
happened to fall exactly on the holiday. The parade accompanied an especially
large farmer’s market, as well as music and plenty of festivities on the
Village Green.

Marchers in the parade |
The amazing weather we’ve been having held out for the
celebrations. It’s hard to be anything but jolly on Orcas with so much
sunshine.

The famous Earth Ball |
The Earth Ball is in every Orcas parade, carried on the backs
of children and adults alike.

Even animals can be patriotic |
We all watched the floats go by from right outside our
office on 123 North Beach Road, right across from the Co-op and next to the
Island Historical Museum. Happy Fourth!
