4th of July on Orcas Island

The parade features all ages
The festivities on the Island stretch from the fireworks in
Deer Harbor on the 3rd, which occurred on Thursday, to the parade in
Eastsound Village on Saturday. On the day of the fourth, islanders and tourists
alike gather down at the beach park in town to listen to music and cuddle under
the fireworks that are set off from Indian Island.

Very different from the Solstice Parade, the Fourth of July
parade features island businesses and variety of groups drawing attention to
their cause. Below are some highlights from Saturday’s parade, which was themed
“Neighbors Helping Neighbors.”
