Fog in October

October 24, 2013

Although fog is an occasional occurrence this time of year on Orcas Island, we usually have those crisp, sunny days of fall. These past few weeks, however, it has been a frequent occurrence.

Fog normally occurs at a relative humidity of about 100%, due to added moisture in the air or a lowered air temperature. So apparently it’s been cold and wet enough for an ideal fog environment! It is quite picturesque after all, albeit a bit chilly.
