Hogstone's Wood Oven: The New Pizzeria on Orcas Island

June 26, 2013
For anyone who has enjoyed Maple Rock Farm’s wood fired pizza nights at the farm in past summers, John Steward, Jay Blackinton, and Geddes Martin have brought the farm to table pizza to a lovely commercial space in Eastsound, right at the top of the hill between Oddfellow’s Hall and Island Market. With the same fresh, delicious ingredients and masterful pizza craftsmanship, guests can enjoy wood fired pizza in the heart of Orcas Island. Although the restaurant lacks the tree swings and the big field for the kids to romp around in that the farm featured, there is still a small yard area with outside picnic tables and the occasional performance of live music for some fun entertainment. Fresh greens, local cheeses, and daily made sauces from in-season ingredients bring the sweet goodness of a local farm to your table all weekend long. Support your local farmers by checking out the restaurant this weekend!

Check out their facebook page, Hogstone’s Wood Oven, for pictures of their latest creations and updates on live music happenings in the restaurant, or their website www.hogstone.com. Hogstone is open Fridays and Saturdays from 5-9 pm and Sundays from 4-8 pm.
