From Trash to Treasure: Rebuilding the exchange!
That was the theme for this year’s 4th of July
parade, which took place last Saturday, treating islanders and guests of the
island alike to creative costumes built from everything from recycled plastic yogurt containers
to fur coats.

Fur coats and wire apparently create quite accurate bird costumes |
There was also the typical stream of old cars, including
this magnificent ancient bus from the Pole Pass Resort.

This old bus carried the Kiwanis volunteer club and their pink flamingos |
The earth ball made an appearance of course, as did
advocators of reading and compost. There was the array of island billboards,
for businesses and services wishing to make a public advertisement.
